After approximately 3.5 hours of driving, we arrive at the Pacchanta community (4,300 m / 14,100 ft), located at the base of the majestic Ausangate Mountain. Here, we take a short break to enjoy a delicious local breakfast prepared by the community.

During the hike, we visit a series of spectacular glacial lakes, including Azulcocha, Otorongo, Pucacocha, Alqacocha, and Q’omercocha, each displaying unique shades of blue, turquoise, and green. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the snow-covered peaks that dominate the region, such as Ausangate (6,834 m), Mariposa or Butterfly Mountain (5,842 m), Jampa (5,500 m), Pucapunta (5,740 m), Caracol or Snail Mountain (5,625 m), Tinke (5,300 m), as well as the impressive Qayangate mountain range.
