Daypack & Original passport.
Medical insurance card.
One backpack, sturdy duffel bag, or easily managed suitcase.
Long sleeve shirt or blouse and short sleeve shirts – a long sleeve cotton shirt is great for the jungle.
Waterproof pants & Cotton socks.
Sturdy shoes or hiking boots comfortable for walking.
Waterproof jacket or rain poncho especially for rain season between Januarys to March.
Bathing suit & Sandals.
Sun/ rain hat.
Camera with extra battery.
Sunblock of at least 15 SPF – the tropical sun is strong.
Insect repellant with DEET.

Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries.
Toothbrush, toothpaste, toiletries, etc.
Anti-bacterial soap, toilettes, or gel.
Plastic bags (Ziplocs work great! to cover your electronics while sightseeing & larger trash bag).

Small padlock to lock your bag shut.

Leave a copy with someone at home and put a copy in a travel companion’s luggage and email them to yourself (or Google Docs).
