Day 1 – Puno – Uros – Amantani (Group service only)

Between 7:30 are to 8am you will be picked up from your hotel. Travel and after 2 hours by motor boat and then you will arrive at the Uros Island. Fishermen and hunters inhabit the floating islands of the Uros. The residents of the Uros use the cattail, a type of rush, which grows in the lake, to create the conditions that ensure the islands stay afloat. The dense roots that the plants develop support the island. The roofs are waterproof and the houses are extremely humid because of the surrounding water…Continue traveling in our boat, we will get the next island called Amantani, just arriving there will be first contact with local’s families, they bring you up to the homes, there you get your accommodation for one night in basic typical room between the agriculture fields. The local family will supply yours all foods.

After lunch the entire group together walk up to highest point of island, called Pachatata temple 4200m. Is the best place to get pictures from all surround views of this blue sacred lake of the Incas…After the explanation of your tour guide, back to the homes to get your dinner and then you can go to enjoy typical dances with the local music players. Overnight in local family home.

Day 2 – Cusco –  Puno (Group service only)

At 6:45 am, we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the bus terminal of INKA EXPRESS or TURISMO MER (VIP service, Touristic Bus Cusco to Puno ) The service is by an English speaking guide for tours of sites along the way; Andahuylillas, Raqchi and Pucara with spectacular views. Along the way, you will stop in Sicuani to enjoy a nice traditional buffet lunch provided by our company. (Vegetarian optional) Upon your arrival to Puno aprox.5:00pm, our representative will be waiting for you to transfer you to Hotel Qelqatani .

Day 3 – Private Guided tour to Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu (Machu Picchu Montana: Optional) (B)

This day, is one of the most important and interesting days during your whole trip, you will be picked up from your Hotel very early (BEFORE the BIRDS SING) our guide will meet you at your hotel between 4:30 to 5:00am to aboard the first touristic and shared bus to drop off you at the main door where you have to show your original PASSPORTS and ISIC Cards ( if applicable ) at the check point , and then try to be the first visitors inside of the wonder of the world Machu Picchu and the archaeological sites you will have complete guided tour during 2 to 3 hours of this spectacular mystical place. The GUIDED tour basically includes walk through the different sections such as: The Urban sector, the agriculture sector, and the religions zone was used by the Inca Culture. After the guided tour in Machu Picchu, you will have free time to explore by yourself, walk at your own space, a lot of selfies and to meet other tourists into the sanctuary. According with the time and to your physical conditions, you can coordinate with the tour guide to climb to HUAYNA PICCHU or Machu Picchu Mountain from where you can have the best panoramic view for photos of all Machu Picchu and of deep green canyon surrounding the sacred Inca Citadel.

Do not forget that this entrances, must be booked in advance and pay US$ 25 extra. Afternoon and depending on your train schedule back to Cusco, you will have to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco. After the guided tour, our guide will give you all the instructions for your bus down and train back to Cusco. Upon your arrival to Poroy station, you will be meeting again by our staff and then transfer back to your Hotel

Day 4 – Ollantaytambo – Km104 – Aguas Calientes

After your breakfast, our tour guide will pick you up from your Hotel to transfer you to Ollantaytambo train Station for a train journey of just over one hour till kilometer 104 (starting point of our trek). As soon as we arrive to this point , we will cross a bridge to the check point and show your passports and student cards ( If is applicable ) then we will start a soft walk into the other side of the Vilcanota River the trail heads off to the right towards the ruins of Chachabamba. After a visit this impressive Inca ruins with buildings on stone, we`ll continue the trail road most of it on stone steps, heads south and begin climbing the mountain, great views around of the high jungle area and mountains, before entering the cloud forest. Then the trail leaves the forest and goes west while continuing the uphill hike in open grassland.

After hiking in the sun for about three hours, the trail descends into a shaded forest. This is where trekkers can enjoy a beautiful waterfall. After leaving the waterfall and forest, trekkers will arrive at the lower part of the incredible ruins of Wiñay Huayna, steps to climb to reach the superior edifications described as temples. We will have plenty of time for a guided exploration sorted by our experienced guide and time to explore and pictures in our own. By the time we arrive to this complex it won’t be crowded, because most trekkers headed to the Sun gate and Machu Picchu. It is recommended that you start the trek with at least 2 liters of water. After lunch in Wiñay Huayna ruins we continue through a cloud forest full of bromeliads, orchids and fern trees. You will walk the last part of the original trail with amazing features stone steps and tambos, resting places, and climb the 60 steps before arriving to the Inti Punku or “Sun`s Gate”. From this point you will be able to contemplate and observe this marvelous place, last 45 minutes to be on front of this wonder, where you can feel an inner peace. Spend a short time for pictures and views then we prepare our mind for the next early morning, time to take a bus for 30 minutes to Aguas Calientes town. Hot springs pools are optional or just free time to chill out at this small village.

Day 5 – Half Day Horseback Riding in Maras Moray & Salt Mines

This interesting horse ride consists of three important tourist attractions: the Salineras salt mines, Maras and Moray, which we discover by using paths that connect us to the history of these lands from times long before the Incas..Leaving our ranch located in the rural community of Pichingoto, we will get to the salt mines known as Salineras, where you can see how the salt is collected by hand, and after the visit we will continue riding to the colonial village of Maras, where one of the first churches in Latin America was constructed, which goes by the name of San Francisco de Asís. Here we will have our fruit snack and a drink…We will go for a walk through the streets of the village of Maras where you can see the coats of arms from different Spanish colonial families carved into the stone doorways, and afterwards we will ride towards Moray, an important agricultural experimentation and development centre of which we can appreciate its grand architecture and some of the native products that are still being produced there. After the visit we will have our box lunch or picnic…During the visit we will enjoy the impressive views all around, where you can see several Andean snow-capped mountains like nowhere else in Cusco.

Day 6 – Sacred Valley of the Incas, Zoo of Cochahuasi , Alpaca Farm , Terraces of Moray Maras & Salt Mines, Pisac Market & Ruins , Urubamba , Ollantaytambo

At 8:00am, you will be picked up from your Hotel by our English speaking guide to start with the lovely tour to the Sacred valley or if you arrive to the airport around 9 am, our guide will be waiting for you holding an small board, written your names and then, you will be transferred to our office to get further information about the trip and pay the remainder balance while you will be informed, our staff will served you COCA tea to avoid the altitude sickness. At the appropriate time, you start with this lovely Sacred Valley (great option to acclimatize) the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, where you’ll board our private coach for a drive to the Sacred Valley. This mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover…The tour includes the visits the small zoo of Cochahuasi where you can observe the flight of the CONDOR`S, Andean pumas, fox, deer’s, parrots, macaws and variety of animals and birds and then you will visit Awanancha or (Alpaca farm) which is a weaving center with the goal to keep alive the traditional textile arts. Here you can see four members of the camelids family – llama, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos. Alpaca have thick wool and is the most commonly used while the vicunas are small and delicate with fur considered the finest. You can meet these fours camelids, learn about the harvesting of the different wools and the natural dying techniques and have change to see native weavers from different areas showing their weaving style and dress afterwards, we continue with visit to the Andean native markets and ruins of Pisac .This mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover… along with farms and villages that welcome you with a taste of daily life. Enjoy a tasty BUFFET lunch for at the restaurant (variety of dishes and vegetarian optional) after the lunch, the tour continues with the visits to Inca site of Moray. This is a fascinating, unique ruin; a fabulous amphitheater of terracing that was used as an agricultural experimental site by the Incas by taking advantage of the microclimates produced by the varying altitude to breed new varieties of their crops. We shall also visit the Village of Maras, and The salt pans which have made it famous. The tour continues towards Ollantaytambo, an archaeological site that the Incas built as a fort and includes a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: Araqama Ayllu, the religious and worship zone, and Qosqo Ayllu, the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions due to the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a Living-Inca-Town, since the inhabitants maintain very old practices and customs… Afternoon, you will be drop off at the (Hotel Tunupa Lodge) (Hotel El Albergue) or Hotel Pakaritampu after check in, free time to explore on your own.

Day 7 – Private City tour (Tambomachay / Pucapucara / Qenqo / Saqsayhuamán / Cathedral & Qoricancha) (B)

After your delicious breakfast, pick up to start with this famous traditional tour involves the visits, first Tambomachay (Temple of the Water) a center of adoration and worship of water. Puca Pucara (Reddish place) that was used as a military control center Q`enqo (Labyrinth) A religious center dedicated to the adoration. Saqsayhuamán (Majestic place with impressive works in stone which some up to 120 tons) Main Cathedral (Marvel of the religious) The Koricancha (Temple of the sun) afternoon, you will be drop off to your Hotel in Cusco. Optional visits to: San Blas area or Barrio de San Blas, one of Cusco’s oldest neighborhoods. Inca Museum installed in the Admiral’s House, an important monument of colonial architecture. The museum keeps the main Inca archaeological collection in Peru Inca culture that reflects and other archaeological cultures of the region of Cusco.

San Pedro Market (One`s of the Biggest market of Cusco) On the walk to it you’ll generally notice more and more street vendors and ladies in traditional dress sitting on the side of the streets selling nuts, popcorn and other small bags of dried foods. You’ll spot more and more local shops (tiendas) selling the most random of things all in the one tienda. If you’re looking for an alpaca jumper, a freshly made juice, a bag of nectarines, some plantains to fry, buttifaras (ham sandwiches served on French bread) or some cheesy gifts for your parents or friends back home you’re definitely on your way to the right place!. (Meals on your own).

Day 8 – City tour in Lima

At 9:00 or 12pm , pick up to start with the PRIVATE LIMA CITY TOUR – Colonial & Modern: Visit The Government Palace, the Municipality palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and main colonial buildings around the Plaza Mayor, the 17th century Monastery of San Francisco the most magnificent colonial and monumental center of the America’s, you will find a Basilica with 21 altars, the convent with the cloister, the Clementine and Capitulars room, the choir, the monks library and the Prefunds Museum that exhibits 11 paintings of Rubens. The sacristy exhibits paints of Zurbaran and Rivera. The Gran Patio is garnished with Seville’s tiles from the XVI century and Moorish arcs. It also includes a visit to the underground tombs (catacombs). Then a short tour of the modern districts of San Isidro and Miraflores visiting places like The Love Park or The Indian Market (souvenirs & handicrafts). Finally we will visit a shopping center named Larco Mar, which was built on a spectacular cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. .. We will also visit an exclusive restaurant “La Rosa Nautica”, where you will have the opportunity to prepare your own “Pisco Sour” and the famous “Ceviche”. Enjoy a delicious lunch, consisting of the most symbolic dishes of Peruvian cuisine.

Day 9 – Arrival to Lima & Spend the night at the comfortable hotel located at the airport

Upon your arrival to the airport (Arrival details: To be confirmed) you will only need to walk 5 minutes to find your Hotel Costa del Sol Wyndham Lima  for evening accommodation , show them your original passports and ask your booking made in your names through South Adventure Peru Tours.

Day 10 – Amantani Island – Taquile “Pre-Inca Terraces” Puno (Group service only)

After your breakfast at the local family house, pick up to continue with the tour to Taquile Island which takes around 3 hours by motor boat where you will explore and enjoying a pristine sandy beach there you will have plenty of time to relax and feel the serenity of Titicaca. Then hike through a pre-Inca terraces where you will be guided around the pre-Inca terraces and visit these nice people with their typical dresses and famous for their intricate and fascinating weavings.

We will also visit some local families of weaving at their home and you will learn about their textile art and symbolism that has been declared by UNESCO as WORLD HERITAGE. After your delicious local lunch, you will continue walking around this amazing mountain and visiting some local families and see their tradition. Afternoon, you will walk down till the port to catch the motor boat and return to Puno around 5:00pm, dropped off at the Hotel. (Dinner on your own)

Day 11 – Puno – Juliaca – Lima

After breakfast, pick up from your Hotel, head towards Juliaca and an excursion to the Sillustani towers. The pre-Inca Sillustani funeral towers lie next to the Umayo Lake and form part of one of the largest and most important necropolis in the world. Used by both the Altiplano civilization and the Incas and their wives “Collas” to honor their dead and in preparation for the after-life. They were abandoned when the first Spanish arrived. With over ninety chulpas (tombs), all built from volcanic rock, those for the Incas can be easily recognized by their finer detail.

Transfer to Juliaca airport for the flight back to Lima.
