After the video, our English speaking pilot will proceed to give you a briefing about this air tour and also will give each participant a map of the archaeological zone, which shows all the figures you will see from the air. Among the figures, you will see an impressive representation of a monkey, a whale, a spider, a hummingbird, a parrot, a condor, geometrical shapes and hundreds of straight lines crisscrossing the Nazca desert.

Later on you will have time for lunch (on your own) afterward, you will visit Cantalloc Aqueduct is the name of a great attraction in Nazca. It is located on the way from Nazca to Cusco.

In order to survive Man has always been smart to adapt to seemingly impossible conditions to live and on this occasion the Nazca people have had to find a way to have access to water in this arid desert climate of Nazca. In the 5th century the aqueducts were built to provide for years round access to water essential for permanent inhabitation and irrigation of the area. Water running in aquifers was channeled to where it was needed using man-made underground channels. Concentrically paths leading down to these underground channels provided for direct access to the water. In the Aqueducts of Cantayoc where is open air has an S-shaped to slow down the water flow and prevent from running too fast in times of flooding. The Nazca people also constructed access points, which still now give direct access to clean and also oxygenates the water which is surprisingly fresh. They knew that water coming down from the Andes was flowing not only in rivers, but also in aquifers, and intelligently tapped into these essential resources. Some even argue that the famous Nazca lines actually point to underground sources of water and that the symbols are hints of what can be found in the arid soil. The most popular excursion from Nazca, the Chauchilla Cemetery, 30km south of Nazca, It will satisfy any urges you have to see ancient bones, skulls and mummies. Dating back to the Nazca late civilization around AD 800, Grave robbers and archeologists evidenced the previous discovery of the Nazca civilization in the Nazca desert. Bodies of ancient Nazca people were preserved in the Chauchilla Cemetery. The arid climate of the region helped to preserve those bodies… The Nazca Civilization had the habit of burying their people. Thanks to this practice, the Nazca people left almost untouched ceramics, colorful textiles, mummies, skulls and devices. Local thieves and tomb robbers were aware of this since the end of the XX century; the only things that they left behind on the desert were the mummies and minor belongings. The mummies are reorganized and exposed inside 12 underground tombs, though cloth fragments and pottery and bone shards still litter the ground outside the demarcated trail.
