Definitely the exposure to traditional Andean culture! This is the way to experience what life is like in the mountains of Peru. This ADVENTURE tour will take you through several Andean villages where you will travel past traditional stone houses with thatched roofs, using some of the same paths that locals use every day. There is lots of opportunity to spot children tending herds of llamas and alpacas, and women in colorful dress spinning and weaving specially the Women from Chaullacocha take an opportunity to work on their weavings. Not only that, but for an even more immersive experience, you can opt to stay overnight with a local family! Many of our adventure tour options include a night in or near Chaullacocha, but instead of camping, you can choose a homestay instead! You’ll spend the night in the home of one of the villagers, in basic but comfortable conditions, and see first-hand the way people in the Andes live. Time permitting, the family may treat you to a weaving demonstration, some Andean music or even a chance to fish in the nearby lake! After all, Chaullacocha literally means “fish lake” in Quechua! Although the best time to this ACTVITY is considered to be the dry season (March through August), there are some considerable advantages in the wet season. First of all, the rain makes everything lush and green giving you a whole new perspective. Not only that but with most tourists coming during dry season, it’s possible to have a much more personal experience while adventures in the wet season. The trails are empty, and crowds will have thinned out at some of the popular tourist sites – even Machu Picchu! About our community Proyect: Our company are coming working in community development in the Lares Valley communities including Chaullacocha communty since 2009, supporting the local schools with a lot of suplies such as pencils, notebooks, school uniforms, toys, clothing and food, and as a result, we have a very close relationship with the people at every community, and many of them are part of our team, from porters to cooks to muleteers. Our company its a non-profit organization, we also works with the weavers of Chaullacocha, a highlight on the Lares comminites. We invite you see some our community proyect in this link and see how our company share some of our proffits. https://southadventureperutours.com/social-proyect/ Our travelers who takes many of our Lares Valley activities often get a chance to visit the school and the weaving association – this is a totally different experience than the average Lares valley acitity! This opportunity depends on timing – the school is not in session every day – so please tell us at the time of booking if visiting the weaving association or school is important to you! mostly between March to December which is school season.

This mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover. You will also stop at CRISTO BLANCO (White Crist ) with an special view of the Cusco city , After a brief of information you will continue with ther tour to the Sacred valley where you will enjoy the breathtaking mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover..The tour includes the visits the small zoo of Cochahuasi where you can observe the flight of the CONDOR`S, Andean pumas, fox, deer’s, parrots, macaws and variety of animals and birds and then you will visit Awana Kancha or (Alpaca farm) an exhibition Centre of Textiles and South American Camelids. Here you can see four members of the camelid’s family – llama, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos.

The trip continues way up the Canyon that enters the Urubamba valley at Pisac. The citadel, at the entrance to this gorge, now in ruins, controlled a route, which connected the Inca Empire with Paucartambo, on the border of the eastern jungles. Set high above a valley floor patch – worked by patterned fields and rimmed by vast terracing, the stonework and panoramas at Pisaq’s Inca citadel are magnificent. Terraces, water ducts and steeps have been cut out of solid rock, and in the upper sector of the ruins, the main sun Temple is equal of anything at Machu Picchu. Above the temple lie still more ruins, mostly unexcavated, and among the higher crevices and rocky overhangs, several ancient burial sites are hidden. Afterwards, you will return walking around the mountain or you can just catch our private transport to explore the modern Pisac is a picturesque Andean village, typical except for the huge, spreading pisonay tree that dominates the central square. The village is best known for its Sunday market although now is open every day, which draws hundreds of tourists each week. In spite of its popularity, the market retains much of its local charm, at least in the part where villagers from miles around gather to barter and sell their products. In the tourist section of the market, you can buy wide variety of Handcrafts – mostly the same things you can see in Cusco. Pisac is a good place to buy the local ceramics including a huge and varied collection of hand-painted multi-colored beads. We continue to the highest point of this trip know HUACACASI (4450m), from here downhill to Lares valley (3250m), where we have time to enjoy the thermals baths. The hot springs pools with temperaturas range between 98.6° F, 100.4° F, 111.2° F, and a sizzling 118.4° F. The pools are warm, so soak with caution. The hot temperatures can sneak up on you, especially on warm days when the sun is shinning down at such a high altitude. Visiting on a cold and rainy day, actually help regulate the soaking experience. The water is full of rich minerals, resulting in the water having a brownish tint. The water is not dirty, just filled with healing properties. There is not a terrible sulfur smell, which is usually prevalent at most hot springs. With the healing benefits of these pools, your skin will feeling extra fresh. Here will have plenty of time to explore this ancient beautiful village of the town then, after our delicious lunch we will make the tents tents our selves where we will camp around the termal baths. On the way , we will be able to observe small Andean communities, spectacular mountain landscapes, herds of llamas and alpacas plus Campesinos (people of the local villages) in colorful costumes as is traditional with all villages around Lares major distric.(Lunch & Diner)
