Day 1 – UYUNI

WELCOME TO UYUNI!!!

Our guide will be waiting for you at the airport or the bus station.

MAGIC UYUNI SALT FLAT + SUNSET – 2 DAYS / 1 NIGHT

 

If you arrive early we will take you to a local restaurant to have breakfast.

 

It’s time to take a step into one of the best experiences that Bolivia can offer. We will make our first stop at the train cemetery full of 200-year-old train engines full of stories, plunged with history, myth and reality. Going forward, we’ll find ourselves at the bottom of the Tunupa Volcano, listen to its wonderful tales, enjoy the view, and realize the size of this white desert. Here, is where the Coquesa caves are home to mummies perfectly preserved since 700 A.D. an experience like no other, as our favorite part of the day slowly comes. Free time for enjoy a delicious lunch. Then, you’ll be able to witness a majestic sunset, that will change your perspective of the planet itself, many photographs have become internet staples, but they don’t manage to show what your own eyes can see. It’s finally time to rest and dinner, relax at the hotel of your choice, and regain all your energy for the next day.

Day 2 – COLCHANI-SALT FLAT

After a well-deserved rest in the largest natural salt flat, and enjoy a breakfast, get ready to make your way to the amazing Incahuasi island, where giant cacti stand over 10 feet tall, offering a privileged landscape where you can take advantage of the enormous distance of the desert to take the famous perspective photos with the help of our experts, showing friends and family the majestic way in which the sky melts with the earth at the horizon. Time for picnic lunch. Further, arrive at the Colchani town, where we find rustic factories and artisans working with the salt, creating products and sculpting all kinds of figures. With this, we reach the end of the journey, and go on with our lives with one of the most important destinations checked. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 – COLCHANI – UYUNI – LA PAZ – TIWANAKU – PUNO

TIWANAKU ENIGMA + PUMA PUNKU – FULL DAY

Pick up from the airport. Get ready to travel thousands of years before in time to witness one of the oldest civilizations in human history. Begin with the hike through the archeological complex of Tiwanaku, ruins declared as Humanity Heritage by the UNESCO, where hundreds of experts have confirmed this is a legendary settlement for humankind. Get up close to the Akapana Pyramid, the Sun’s Gate and the Ponce Monolith, engraved with fine iconography on its surface, which involves a highly advanced technology for the time these people were around, and a language that is still being deciphered. In the underground minor temple, you can spot a number of faces sculpted in rock, some of theme reflecting traits of races from across the planet. Enjoy lunch time at a local restaurant.

 

Further, reach Puma Punku, an extraordinary facility where perfectly sculpted rocks of over 23 feet tall and above 100 tons, with precise measurements and aligned one with the others. It is truly mind boggling how this civilization came to figure out a way to move and detail these massive pieces, their use, and technology involved. Come back to reality and the present, as you deserve a rest. Transfer to Desaguadero, after migration formalities change of car and continue the journey to Puno.
