Then, board the Hiram Bingham from the property’s train station, and make your way to the famed citadel..kindly note: the Hiram Bingham departs from Poroy station near Cusco from May to December. Journeys directly from Rio Sagrado to Machu Picchu are available from January to April.

Machu Picchu: The Belmond Hiram Bingham is a luxury train operating day return trips from Poroy station outside Cusco to Aguas Calientes, the station for Machu Picchu in Peru
It’s not an opportunity that comes along every day: to board a train in Cusco, once the seat of the Inca Empire and still a bastion of ancient and colonial history; to travel through the unforgettable Urubamba Valley aboard a luxurious train; and to have a guided tour of Machu Picchu, one of the seven Wonders of the Modern World. (Note: exploration of Machu Picchu with a tour guide is only guaranteed when you book your ticket at least 30 days in advance.) The Hiram Bingham train runs between Poroy station, Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

Our luxury Hiram Bingham, a Belmond Train, service operates every day of the year, except for the last Sunday of each month (this exception does not apply to the last Sunday of March, July, and December).

Bimodal Service: Every year, from January to April, our Hiram Bingham service changes its operating mode due to the rainy season to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. A tour bus will operate from the city of Cusco (Wanchaq) to the Belmond Río Sagrado Hotel (Sacred Valley of the Incas), where you will transfer to the trains to continue to Machu Picchu. The same applies for the return trip.
Anticipate an exquisite journey to the Lost City aboard Hiram Bingham. First, unwind in style in
the Sacred Valley at Rio Sagrado, A Belmond Hotel. Then, directly from the hotel, board the
Hiram Bingham and make your way up to the famed citadel. Indulge in a Peruvian banquet with
cocktails, marveling at the passing views from the observatory car or exchanging travel tales in
the bar car, as live music sets the scene. Then arrive at Machu Picchu and step off the train
into an enchanting ancient world.
At 8:10am, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer to Poroy station ( which takes
roughly 25 minutes away form Cusco City ) where you will board the Hiram Binghan service
journeying through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the Lost City of Machu Picchu, a trip on
the Hiram Bingham takes you across of the most beautiful and romantic scenery in Peru. Sights as
incredible as the vast agricultural terraces of Jaquijahuana, the remains of a major Inca city
that was sadly destroyed during the Spanish conquest, the beautiful village of Ollantaytambo
hidden in the Sacred Valley and home to the Urubamba river and an ancient temple complex called
The Fortress, all await.Throughout the out going journey you are served a delicious brunch as
the stunning scenery gently passes, before arriving in the town of Machu Picchu.On the journey
from Cuzco to the beautiful lost city of Machu Picchu, the Hiram Bingham runs through
Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas.The beautiful valley, known as
‘Vilcamayo’ to the Incas, stretches out from the Inca citadels of Pisac to
Ollantaytambo along the Urubamba River or “Sacred River.”
As our guest on board the Hiram Bingham, your journey includes a seamless transfer to Machu
Picchu, with your entrance ticket thoughtfully provided by Belmond whenever availability allows.
While we are pleased to arrange your Machu Picchu entry, please be aware that securing your
ticket is subject to the regulations and availability governed by the Ministerio de Cultura of
Peru. The daily number of tickets entrances is restricted and the citadel is experiencing a very
high demand of visitors. Due to these external factors, we are unable to guarantee the purchase
of your entrance ticket. If your primary purpose for traveling on the Hiram Bingham is to visit
Machu Picchu, we strongly recommend booking in advance checking ticket availability on the
Ministerio de Cultura website ,or contact us by whatsapp ( +51 983048083 ) prior to booking
your Hiram Bingham journey through our company. We operate strictly within the guidelines set by
the Ministerio de Cultura of Perú. Once tickets are purchased, passenger details (full name,
nationality, passport number) cannot be altered or modified.We appreciate your understanding and
