On June17, 2013 Nathan Heald (USA), Thomas Ryan (USA), and Luis Crispin (Peru) made the summit at 10:30 am after 9 hours of climbing from a high camp at 5,500mts. On the NE ridge, this makes Crispin the first Peruvian climber to summit the mountain.

Important note: Due to the high demand and limit of entrances to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Montaña even to MACHU PICCHU, we strongly recommend you book in advance before sold out... There are only 400 entrances per day, this climbing depends much of weather conditions especially from January to March is not recommendable for rainy season (Cost for entrance to Huayna Picchu & Machu Picchu Montaña US$ 15 each)

Day 1: Arrival to Lima & Spend the night at the comfortable hotel located at the airport

Upon your arrival to the airport (Arrival details: To be confirmed) you will only need to walk 5 minutes to find your Hotel

Day 2: Lima - Puerto Maldonado -  Rainforest Adventure tour road trip to Tambopata 4D/3N (B-L&D)

At the appropiate time, you will catch your flight straight to Puerto Maldonado. Upon your arrival to the airport, our guide or staff will be waiting for your holding a small board written your names where you will be welcomed with a delicious tropical juice. After a brief explanation of the tour and accommodating the equipment, we will depart for the Trans-Oceanic highway, where we will take a dirt road to the Tambopata River. The road runs initially through plantations of local species and cattle ranches...Box Lunch on the road. As we get away from the highway and into the deep jungle, human presence gradually reduces until we reach the Tambopata River. There our boat will be waiting to transfer us to WASAI TAMBOPATA LODGE. After a pleasant journey of 20 minutes we will arrive to the Lodge. Reception and accommodation on the Lodge...After a short rest, we will make a nocturnal walk into the jungle to observe and listen to insects, bats, and frogs and perhaps have other encounters with another nocturnal mammal. Dinner and overnight in the Lodge. The various sounds of the rainforest will accompany us through our first night in the Amazon. Overnight at Wasai lodge.

Day 3: Macaw`s Clay lick (B-L&D)

Early wake up around 4:30 am to take a light breakfast (coffee or mate), to begin with our 90-minutes journey upstream to the Macaw Clay Lick “El Chuncho” in the Bahuaja-Sonene National Park. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful natural sceneries and wildlife of the riverbanks. At our arrival, if weather permits, we will observe one of the greatest wildlife spectacles where hundreds of parrots and different species of macaws gather in the clay lick to eat it, an unforgettable experience. Then, we will walk through the river beach searching for animal footprints while we have refreshment. In the middle morning we return to the lodge to have breakfast and then take a rest to relax or do the adventure activities or enjoy the facilities and the surroundings of Wasai. Also, you will have the chance of swimming in the Tambopata River. Those who want can do kayaking on the river or you can join us to fish in the river where inhabit more than 250 species of fish. On route if the level of river are adequate, we will visit the Cat cascades...Return to the lodge .Lunch will be served between 1:30 to 2pm. After lunch, we will have a new ethno botanical walk into the rainforest by the Tambopata cross path, to learn about plants and medicinal trees of the area; and to observe the amazing jungle ecosystem where we will see walking palm trees, giant lupuna trees, snake trees and so on. At nightfall, free time to enjoy the night. Overnight at Wasai Tambopata lodge

Day 4: Amazon Adventure (B-L&D)

Awakening at the lodge is one of the most impressive spectacles of sound and color in the Amazon. Visitors may rest, take a coffee or walk through the surroundings of the lodge by themselves or with the assistance of a guide until breakfast and see many different types of birds, butterflies, mammals and tropical flowers, typical of the amazon rainforest.  Breakfast will take place between 7 to 9 am, then we will start a short boat trip for about 30 minutes upstream the Tambopata River to enjoy the view and get to the starting point of our Kayak adventure in the sector known as The Gold Island. After a brief training on kayaking, you will make your way back to the lodge downstream with the guide paddling next to you. There will be also a motorized boat for any assistance...The ride downstream on kayak is calm and with some small class 1 rapid, which make it fun. It is possible to see birds in the river banks. The ride ends on the Gato River, where depending on the river level you have two different possibilities. When it is low a beautiful cascade where you can swim is formed. If the level of the river is high it is possible to paddle through the river in kayak against the stream. It is also possible to swim in the surroundings of the cascade. Return to the lodge at midday to have lunch and a rest... In the afternoon we will make a short ethno botanical walk of 1 km until the swamp area where the rainforest adventure complex is located. There you will be able to enjoy different adventure activities between the trees: Suspended bridges, Zip Lines of over 100 m, rope bridge, floating ropes, tri lines, etc.  Night walks Relax in the lodge and dinner.

Day 5: Puerto Maldonado - Cusco & Private City tour (Tambomachay / Pucapucara / Qenqo / Saqsayhuamán / Cathedral & Qoricancha (B)

Breakfast. You will wake up with the beautiful sunrise of the jungle to leave the lodge.  Road trip to Puerto Maldonado, transfer to the airport. During the way back you will still have the opportunity to see wild animals and enjoy the fresh morning of the Peruvian Rainforest. Depending on your departure flight you can enjoy our hotel facilities in Puerto Maldonado as the swimming pool or the beautiful surroundings.

Upon your arrival to Cusco (Flight details: to be confirmed) our guide and representative will be waiting for you, holding an small board written your names and then, you will be transferred to our office to get further information about the trip and pay the remainder balance while you will be informed, our staff will served you COCA tea to avoid the altitude sickness.

At the appropriate time, you start with this famous traditional CITY TOUR and outskirts which involves the visits, first

Day 6: Private tour to the Sacred Valley  - Zoo of Cochahuasi - Alpaca Farm - Pisac market & Ruins - Urubamba - Tour to Maras Moray and Salt Mines - Ollantaytambo & Cusco (B - Buffet lunch )

At the appropriate time and after your buffet breakfast, pick up from your Hotel for the lovely Sacred Valley (great option to acclimatize) the ancient capital of the Inca Empire, where you'll board our private coach for a drive to the Sacred Valley. This mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover... The tour includes the visits the small zoo of Cochahuasi where you can observe the flight of the CONDOR`S, Andean pumas, fox, deer’s, parrots, macaws and variety of animals and birds and then you will visit Awana Kancha or (Alpaca farm) which is a weaving center with the goal to keep alive the traditional textile arts. Here you can see four members of the camelids family - llama, alpacas, vicunas and guanacos. Alpaca have thick wool and is the most commonly used while the vicunas are small and delicate with fur considered the finest. You can meet these fours camelids, learn about the harvesting of the different wools and the natural dying techniques and have change to see native weavers from different areas showing their weaving style and dress afterwards, we continue with visit to the Andean native markets and ruins of Pisac.

This mountainous region of Peru offers mystical awe-inspiring sights to discover... along with farms and villages that welcome you with a taste of daily life. Enjoy a tasty BUFFET lunch for at the restaurant (variety of dishes and vegetarian optional) after the lunch, the tour continues towards Ollantaytambo, an archaeological site that the Incas built as a fort and includes a temple, agricultural terraces, and an urban area. There are two distinct sectors: Araqama Ayllu, the religious and worship zone, and Qosqo Ayllu, the residential area. Ollantaytambo was an important administrative center with probable military functions due to the walls and towers. There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts. The town of Ollantaytambo is called a Living-Inca-Town, since the inhabitants maintain very old practices and customs.

The tour continues with the visits to Inca site of Moray. This is a fascinating, unique ruin; a fabulous amphitheater of terracing that was used as an agricultural experimental site by the Incas by taking advantage of the microclimates produced by the varying altitude to breed new varieties of their crops. We shall also visit the Village of Maras, and The salt pans which have made it famous. Afternoon and on the way back to Cusco we will stop by the colorful village of Chinchero, where we will find the ruins of the Tupac Inca Yupanqui Royal House, we will appreciate its well preserve Inca wall in the main square and you will visit the beauty Colonial Temple with invaluable portraits, built over Inca Bases and finally, arrives to Cusco and transfer back to Hotel around 6:00pm (Dinner on your own)

Day 7: Cusco - Mollepata - Sayapata - Humantay Lake - Soray Pampa (First campsite located over 3950 m.a.sl) Walking hour’s approx.6 hours / Distance approx...12 Km (B-L&D)

After your delicious breakfast at your hotel, you will be picked up between 4:30 to 5:00am and then, you will be transported in our private vehicle straight to Mollepata (2900 meters above sea level) which is the beginning of the famous hike. You will be accompanied by your English speaking guide and upon your arrival to the last destination of our transport, you will have free time to take some coffee in one local restaurants while our porters will coordinate to carry all the equipment. In this small village, you can also do the last minute supplies, leg-stretching or to use the restrooms at a local places. The mules will load our entire equipment, we will also have some horse of emergency, in case that it is needed along the hike. We will continue our journey till Soray Pampa (3850 meters above sea level) during this famous hike, we will have fantastic landscape and the majestic Salkantay Mountain, and other snowcapped mountains and the Valley of Apurimac River. On the way to our first campsite, we will stop for our delicious and tasty buffet lunch prepared by our professional cook. Afterwards, we will walk uphill to Humantay LAKE, a marvelous lake located into the canyon and finally, we will return and get our campsite where the tents will be ready to rest. Around 7:00pm, dinner will be ready accompanied with hot drinks.

Day 8: Soray Pampa - Apacheta Pass - Chaullay (Second campsite located over 2920 m.a.s.l) Distance of walking approx... 14 Km / Hours of walking 7 hours (B-L&D)

Today is considerate one of the most unforgettable and hardest, but it worth it because you will walk up till the highest point and then, you will enjoy nature. After your delicious breakfast, you will start with this difficult part of the trek. We will pass the Salkantay pampa where you will take a small break and then, we continue towards the left side of the snowy peaks of Umantay located next to the Apu Salkantay. Finally, we will get the highest point (4600 meters above sea level) from where, we will appreciate the spectacular views of the snowcapped mountains and the imposing peaks of Salkantay (6264 m.a.s.l) knowns as the second highest point of the Cusco region. On the way down to our second campsite, we will have lunch break for around 1 hour. After around 4 hours of walk down, we will get our second campsite of Chaullay located into the high jungle (2920 m.a.s.l) Around 7:00pm, dinner will be ready accompanied with hot drinks.

Day 9: Chaullay - La Playa Sahuayaco - Santa Teresa (Third campsite: 2350 m.a.s.l) Distance of walking approx...11Km / Hours of walking: 5 hours (B-L&D)

After our delicious buffet breakfast, we start to walk through Collpa Pampa and the Playa Sahuayaco and during this period , we will observe a town called Collpa Pampa , also called ( Forest cloudy brow ) where we will be introduced to the high jungle zone called Ceja de Selva. Here we will see different kinds of Plants, fruits. Flowers, bird`s etcetera plus coca and banana crops can be observed. On the way to this campsite, we will pass a fantastic waterfall where you will have time to shower and take amazing pictures, and with luck we can observe the famous Peruvian National bird “Gallito de las Rocas” We stop at Lluscamayo (2400 m.a.s.l) for buffet lunch and free time to take relax before the 4 hours walk to our last campsite which is Santa Teresa (2350 m.a.s.l) A small village located here with electricity and shop. This campsite is interesting because you will have plenty of time to enjoy the hot pools. Dinner will be ready accompanied with hot drinks.

Day 10: Santa Teresa - Lucmabamba - Llactapata - Hydroelectric - Train service to Aguas Calientes 2,040 m.a.s.l (B-L&D)

Around 8:00am after enjoyed the delicious buffet breakfast, you will begin with this great hike to the village of Lucmabamba where we see the remains of an Inka trail. We follow this rising trail, from which we will see the coffee, banana and passion fruit plantation and the lovely view of the Santa Teresa valley. After climbing for 4 hours to reach Llactapata (2700m.a.s.l) we will have free time to take relax and observe the mountain of the sanctuary of Machu Picchu (Inca citadel) and some of this archeological site from afar. A descending trail of 2 HOURS, will take us to Hydroelectric plant (1870 m.a.s.l) where will have opportunity to eat your packed food provided by our cook in the last campsite. Around 4:30pm, you will catch the train straight to Aguas Calientes (it takes 45 minutes of journey) upon your arrival to this lovely town, you will be immediately transferred to Hotel for check in for the night there.

Tips:

After your dinner, try to sleep early and be ready for the glorious day in Machu Picchu the next day ... No alcohol & discos for now!!!

Day11: Private Guided tour to the WONDER of the world “Machu Picchu “& Huayna Picchu (Machu Picchu Montaña: Optional) (B & Box-Lunch)

This day, is one of the most important and interesting days during your whole trip, you will be picked up from your Hotel very early (BEFORE the BIRDS SING) our guide will meet you at your hotel between 4:30 to 5:00am to aboard the first touristic and shared bus to drop off you at the main door where you have to show your original PASSPORTS and ISIC Cards (if applicable) at the check point , and then try to be the first visitors inside of the wonder of the world Machu Picchu and the archaeological sites you will have complete guided tour during 2 to 3 hours of this spectacular mystical place.

The GUIDED tour basically includes walk through the different sections such as: The Urban sector, the agriculture sector, and the religions zone was used by the Inca Culture. After the guided tour in Machu Picchu, you will have free time to explore by yourself, walk at your own space, a lot of selfies and to meet other tourists into the sanctuary. According with the time and to your physical conditions, you can coordinate with the tour guide to climb to HUAYNA PICCHU or Machu Picchu Mountain  from where you can have the best panoramic view for photos of all Machu Picchu and of deep green canyon surrounding the sacred Inca Citadel. Do not forget that this entrances, must be booked in advance and pay US$ 15 extra. Afternoon and depending on your train schedule back to Cusco, you will have to take the bus down to Aguas Calientes to catch the train back to Cusco. After the guided tour, our guide will give you all the instructions for your bus down and train back to Cusco. Upon your arrival to Poroy station, you will be meeting again by our staff and then transfer back to your Hotel. (Dinner on your own)

Day 12: Cusco - Lima (B)

After your buffet breakfast or afternoon, pick up and transfer to the airport.
